Allagash is dedicated to crafting the best Belgian-inspired beers in the world. Best known for their flagship beer, Allagash White, they also enjoy aging beer in oak barrels (beginning with the launch of Curieux in 2004) and spontaneously fermented beers (beginning with their traditional Coolship in 2007).
Pilsner with Brettanomyc (5.6%)
Pilsner with Brettanomyces adds Belgian flair to a classic German style. After brewing and hopping with Strisselspalt and Czech Saaz, we ferment it with a lager yeast strain. We finish fermentation with Brettanomyces—a type of wild yeast—giving this pilsner its flavorful and balanced profile. Notes of tropical funk and light tartness pair with a pilsner’s signature lagered flavor.
Saison Gratis (7.2%)
Saison Gratis roams our brewery before landing in kegs. Once it’s brewed, it heads to our coolship, a large rectangular pan, where hopping occurs while the wort cools. It then lingers with a saison yeast strain while open fermenting in one of our foudres. Fully rested and ready to drink, fruit notes of orange, pineapple, and clove complement the beer’s tartness and hops.
Our interpretation of a Belgian-style wheat beer is brewed with oats, malted wheat, and raw wheat for a hazy “”white”” appearance. Spiced with our own special blend of coriander and Curaçao orange peel, Allagash White upholds the Belgian tradition of beers that are both complex and refreshing
Sun Drift (6.7%)
Summon some sunshine with bright notes of citrus and black tea. Sun Drift is brewed with lemon zest for a slightly tart profile. It’s fermented with Brettanomyces yeast and blended with hot-steeped black tea.
